About Slow Tale Time: Kelly's Zoo

Slow Tale Time: Kelly's Zoo is an interactive digital storybook for children aged 3 to 7. Every evening at five o'clock the gates of Kelly's Zoo close, the last visitor goes home, and the animals come out for gentle adventures of their own. Meet Taj the giant tortoise and his best friend Bo the elephant, along with Kiki the macaw, Mango the meerkat, Rafi the giraffe, Cosmo the chameleon, Lulu the lemur, Bruno the bear and Pip the penguin.

Each story is hand-illustrated in a soft watercolour style and narrated aloud so children can read along at their own pace. The app is designed to slow things down — encouraging calm, mindful reading rather than fast-paced screen time. A built-in night mode softens colours for bedtime, and a seasonal badge collection rewards children for exploring every tale through spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

The first story is free to enjoy forever. Every additional adventure can be unlocked individually for 50p, or the whole collection of twelve stories can be unlocked at once for £4.50 — a one-time payment that lasts a lifetime. There are no subscriptions, no ads, and no in-app pressure.
